Uwe Laven never expected a foldable e‑bike to feel like a Harley‑Davidson—but that’s exactly what his PVY Z20 PLUS delivers. As his first e‑bike, this Z20 PLUS has all but retired his car, save for the occasional cargo run. In just 250 km, it’s already reconnected him with the outdoors, transformed his daily commute into a breath of fresh air, and reignited a lifelong love for cycling that started at age four. How would owning a PVY E-BIKE change your lifestyle?

I don't even use my car anymore, except I need more loading space. I spend much more time outside and just enjoy the nature around me and no way is too far for me to go on this bike.

How long have you been riding and is this your first ebike?

This is my first E-Bike and I've been riding it about 250 km now in that short time. I've always been riding bikes from 4 years on until I bought my first car. This is a complete new experience, I use it to go to work every day without much efforts.

What was your motivation or rationale to get an ebike and what were the most important factors in your consideration or selection process?

My first idea was to go to work by bike so that I can get fresh air and reactivate my old body. Then there were many friends that use actually electric bikes and plan beautiful trips through the nature and beautiful places and having Picknick on the way. I specially took a foldable bike to join the mountains by car because where I live it's very flat.

How do you use your PVY bike - commuting, running errands, fitness, recreation, or all of the above? Tell us how you enjoy your ride.

I chose that bike to have a large choice of activities, the motor promises to climb correctly and the suspensions allow the go on rough terrains. I don't unlock full speed actually even though it is often tempting.

Have you ever met up to ride with other PVY owners?

No, I never saw a PVY owner but I saw perhaps 2 or 3 similar bikes in different countries.

What are your thoughts about the role of cycling and ebikes in a more sustainable future?

E-Bikes are coming out more and more, especially for older people or for people that enjoy riding long trips in the nature. In my area in Germany and on the other side of the frontier, in the Netherlands, you have the paradise for bike fans with or without electricity. On a E-Bike of course you can plan longer trips.

What has been your greatest or most memorable adventure with your PVY?

I haven't had special adventures for the moment, but I'm planning them for the summer. Actually every trip I do on this bike is very enjoyable, on the Z20 Plus with its big wheels I feel free like a biker on his Harley Davidson.
